What is a blind date app?
A blind date used to mean a friend setting you up with someone you had never seen. You arrived curious, a little nervous, and you got to know the person before you could judge their face. A blind date app does the introducing for you: it connects you with someone new without showing you their photos first.
Most apps that call themselves blind date apps blur the pictures and let you text, revealing more as the chat goes on. Ocroon goes one step further. The first contact is a live voice conversation, and your photos stay on our servers until you have both chosen each other.
How a blind date works on Ocroon
- Say who you'd like to meet. Gender, age range and the languages you speak. That's the whole setup, and your city is filled in for you.
- Tap Start. Ocroon looks for a compatible person who is free at the same moment. There are no profiles to scroll and no faces to rate.
- Talk for three minutes. Voice only. You see a first name, an age, a city, the languages you share and the interests you have in common.
- Decide in private. When the timer ends you each choose ❤️ or 👎. If you both choose ❤️, photos, full profiles and a chat unlock. If not, nobody is told and you can simply meet someone new.
Why go on a blind date by voice?
- A voice tells you what a photo can't. Humour, warmth, nerves, whether someone is actually listening. You hear it in seconds.
- Everyone starts on equal footing. Nobody is filtered out by a thumbnail before they have said a word.
- Minutes, not weeks. Three minutes of talking replaces days of "hey" and "how was your day" in a chat that slowly dies.
- Low stakes. The worst case is a friendly three-minute chat with a stranger. The best case is someone you want to keep talking to.
- No public rejection. Only a mutual yes is ever revealed, so nobody finds out they were turned down.

A blind date without the awkward parts
- Never recorded. Calls are not recorded and call audio is never stored.
- End it whenever you like. One tap ends a call, with no explanation needed and no penalty.
- No unsolicited messages. Nobody can message you unless you have both said yes.
- Your details stay private. No surname, no phone number, no exact location. Your number is never needed, because calls happen inside the app.
